In This Gallery: 2nd Annual Rock and
Roll-A-Thon at Country Club Manor Assisted Living Community in
Wetumpka
And we can report that the 2nd Annual Rock and Roll-A-Thon at Country Club Manor
Assisted Living Community in Wetumpka was a huge success on Sunday, 6 April with
the help of many great people who came together for an afternoon of fun, food,
friends and happy pets. Our “Rockers” were Flip Weldon, Dorothy Thornell, Hazel Woniger, Ruth Hall and Robbie Hall; and the “Rollers”
were Susie Johnson, Annie Heisler, Debra Cartee, Jan Yates and April & Ashley
Yates. Sponsors and supporters of this great group of Rockers and Rollers
brought in almost $600 for our shelter so we count this as a great afternoon and
thank each of them for their time and effort on our behalf! Sadly, Marie Wells,
County Club Manor’s “Poster Child” for this Rock and Roll-A-Thon, passed away on
Thursday. She was a precious lady who dearly loved animals and our hearts go out
to her family and friends.
There were also many yummy baked goodies, sandwiches and
drinks thanks to Debbie & Toni Jo Beasley, Deborah & Katie Hill, Kayla Syck, the
Mukkamala sisters, Judy McDonald, Tina Blue, Alesia Gilliland, Shirley Rawls,
Jennifer Tritz, Ann Smith, Lucia Penland and Bryant Culberson. And to top off
all of the activities there were some tremendous door prizes thanks to all of
these donors: Cajun Grille, Ding-How Chinese Buffet, Dixie Liebling Pet Salon,
Famous Jerry’s, Montgomery Zoo, Alabama National Guard, Regina Edwards P.C.,
Subway Sandwiches, Wetumpka Express, Charlie Pope and Jan Yates.
As you can see a great idea started last year just gets
bigger and better and we are very grateful to Barbara Huffstetler, Jan Yates and
the entire staff and residents of Country Club Manor for having this annual
event on our behalf.
