Thanks to Dawn Knight of Helping Shepherds of Every Color (www.everycolorgsd.petfinder.com), Montgomery, AL for helping Axel get the home he deserves. Anyone who takes their dog to Cracker Barrel for pics has to be great – wonder if Axel got a burger that day? Thanks Dawn for helping us with Shepherds (far too many find their way to our shelter it seems) and everyone else who helps her place these wonderful dogs in loving and lifetime homes.

This happy boy now named Ruger originally came to us as one of an unwanted litter of five pups. These pups had been handled very little, so were not exactly the most loving and trusting souls, though Ruger was a little more trusting than the others. With the help of Dawn Knight of “Helping Shepherds of Every Color” (www.everycolorgsd.petfinder.com) in Montgomery, AL and great folks with “Why Not Me” Rescue (http://www.whynotmeanimalrescue.com/) in New Jersey, Ruger found a super home and from the looks of this picture, I’d say his non-trusting days are long behind him. Thanks to everyone who made this happen to include all those who helped in his transport to New Jersey!
